"Congestion throughout the entire county is limiting people's potential. Physical mobility is economic mobility. Less time in traffic means more time with your family and so I'm committed to ensuring that we have less congestion and that takes a multimodal approach to transportation in this community but it also takes a multi-layered financing approach to this. Obviously there will be county resources that need to be allocated to this but we also need to have a relationship with the state and to pull down resources commensurate with the growth of this region especially since we are a significant contributor to the state taxes. Central Florida contributes 7% towards GDP in this state. We need to pull down our fair share to accommodate for the growth that we're experiencing. And then at the federal level I know a thing or two about pulling down resources for this community as when I was a member of Congress I pulled down billions of dollars for I-4 expansion, for smart light technology, for roads and rails and things that make moving around in this community easier because I understand the importance of it. So it's not one solution but it's many and we have to have all of the people who benefit from it at the table and contributing their fair share."
