🎬 Australia women are a cheat code

🎤 Whisper Transcript (en) ⏱ 96s

"The Australian women's team have now won seven T20 World Cups. In the entire history of the T20 World Cups, they've lost nine games. There is a non-zero chance that one day they will end up having won more tournaments, or at least the same amount of tournaments, as they have losses. Like there's being good at what you do and then there's that level. That's incredible to me. And you think about T20 Cricket specifically with this, where a freak outlier performance, or something going a bit wrong, or, you know, toss, or do, or run out, or whatever it may be, can affect you. And it doesn't actually affect them because their team is a video game team. It has all the batting and all the bowling at one stage. It's like every single cheat code lined up there. England played this game today like they were trying to get to what would have been a good score against a normal cricket team. Yes, Nat Silverbrunt got stuck a little bit and they didn't score as quickly at the beginning of the innings as they should have. These things happen. But they were pushing themselves towards, oh forget, you know, 150, 155, 160, 165 will have a chance in a final. Against a normal team, I'm like, 100%. That's great. Against Australia, go for 40 beyond par. Against Australia, you're not bowling very well. Sophie Eccleston needs to bowl as soon as humanly possible. You need to take almost every risk to be able to beat them. Because this is a high volatility format. And yet, when the Australian women play it, it just is not. They play a completely different sport to everyone else."
