What happens when the US runs low on missiles and can't make them fast enough? You license Ukraine to build their own. Is "Make it yourself" actually the smartest NATO move in years? ▶️ zurl.co/GintV #NATO #Ukraine #GoodRevenue
"That is one of the biggest problems here, is that the US had a huge arsenal of missiles and that has been depleted. So the president announced at NATO that he's gonna grant Ukraine a license to produce PAK-3 interceptors domestically. And that means that they're not gonna have to rely on some of the supply chain problems that we're experiencing here in the US. More on that in a minute. The president's exact framing to Zelensky was this, and I quote, We're going to give a license to you to make Patriots. That's pretty cool. This way you can't complain that we're not giving you enough. I said, make them yourself. President also noted, we have great power over the companies and that he had not yet communicated this news to Lockheed Martin. I'll bet that was quite the phone call for whoever had to share that update. Ukraine has been pushing for this capability for a long time. And so the fact that this came together in NATO I think made everyone surprisingly quite happy. And that's a good thing for the West and Western allies. And part of what makes this so important is the fact that the timeline to produce missiles is completely insane. It is super long and super expensive. And that's why letting Ukraine make its own missiles is going to be helpful to Ukraine."
