"So I've been having this thought lately, and I'm not sure if I'm gonna explain it well, but I'm gonna do my best to put it into words. The United States is not capable of being the greatest country on earth. So instead, it tries to convince you that everywhere else on the planet is worse than it is here. And the way they do this is through information control. They try to control what info you get about other countries, other places. They spend a ton of money on propaganda. They literally pay people at top newspapers to write think pieces, do reporting, and that benefits this pro-American point of view. That's why there's that international joke about Americans being the most propagandized people on the planet, and we have no clue that we are. So keeping that in mind, let's now think about the curse of the leftist. We've all probably heard this by now. The curse of the leftist is being politically correct, but too early. As in you have a political understanding of the world or of a subject that is objectively right, but everyone else is so propagandized without realizing they have been that they are not ready to hear it. And it's not until these lies of history are exposed ultimately, that everybody adopts the same political perspective that the leftist had all along. They don't give the leftist credit for it naturally, but this is kind of the natural cycle of things. So I'm 39, so I've experienced this in my life. For many people I've known, they've told me years later, sometimes decades later, that I was the first person to ever talk to them about prison abolition, about Israel and Palestine, about Israel being the bad guys and Palestine being the good guys, about socialism being the answer. Now, of course, we see two thirds of Gen Z has a favorable view of socialism. Even when I first got on this app in 2019, I remember telling people China was not a dystopian dictatorship hellhole nightmare. And in fact, they had a better and more advanced quality of life than the United States. At the time, I was called a shill for China, certain thing I was told I was lying. But now everybody pretty much understands that is correct. They objectively are thriving and the West is getting left in the dust. So I've been thinking about how all of this applies to the new thing currently going on. They had a lot of leftists are trying to raise the alarm about and get people to understand and nobody wants to come around on at all. And it's the issue of North Korea. I've been trying to think, what is it that actually gets people to see through the lies of the propaganda machine and change their perspective on things? What is that breaking point that makes them go, oh, oh, we were wrong all along. And for a long time, the approach I've taken talking to people is trying to appeal to their sense of ethics, their sense of morality, what is right and what is wrong. But the problem with that is that understanding right and wrong usually comes along with understanding the history of a place or a situation. So for example, when I've talked about North Korea, I've tried to remind people, hey, that's the Palestine of East Asia. They went through exactly what Palestine is going through today, only instead of it being Israel doing it to them, it was the United States. And before the United States, it was Japan. And my thought process is that if you could see them as people who have survived despite, if you could see their struggle, if you could understand what they have fought for, and if you could understand why the Western world is motivated to sell you a bunch of lies and BS about North Korea, well, then maybe you would realize that everything you thought you knew about them was wrong. But this is not."
