"a veterinarian in Guntersville wants the public's help to find out who dumped a dog outside their office. The Great Dane was left in a cage in sweltering heat. So this was the dog that Dr. Martha Howard from Lake Guntersville Veterinary Services said was dumped yesterday. She said she was left in a crate with no food or water. She shared surveillance video of an SUV pulling up and two people dumping that dog. She says that it wouldn't have taken very long for this dog to have died from heat stroke if someone had not spotted that dog's crate outside. Dr. Howard said this dog is now scared and without a loving family. She adds that dumping dogs is a crime and it has become a real issue in Marshall County. It's heartbreaking to us when people abandon animals like this. It's not fair to the animals. It's not fair to us. These animals, they trust their owners. The animals when they are dumped like this, they are scared. They don't know what's going on. It's an absolutely heartbreaking situation when people do this. So they've contacted Guntersville police but if the people who dumped the dog come forward they may reconsider pressing charges. Right now the Great Dane is under a mandatory seven-day hold. If she is not claimed, she will become available for adoption."
