Here’s something that every Democrat should agree on: The GOP’s obsession with trans kids is creepy.

"We've still got this very anti-democratic body that is systematically undermining American democracy and really kind of legislating from the bench. And this is what we know as the Supreme Court of the United States. It issued a few landmark decisions last week. Among them was an attack on trans kids. It mandated that states are allowed to force parents to have their kids' genitals be investigated by schools. That is now something that the Republican Party has made a priority and that governors and state legislatures can force schools to do. That is the priority, among the priorities of the Republican Party now. I will say there is a reflexive response from some Democrats to try to throw trans kids under the bus as some kind of quote unquote smart political move. I would say what we have learned is that most of the electorate treats the obsession that Republicans have with children's genitals as a particularly weird obsession that does not make them worthy of votes. And a smart move from Democrats would not be to throw those kids under the bus, but instead say these Republicans are fucking weird for prioritizing this instead of anything else. What on earth is in their heads that this is their obsession? And we should treat an attack on one like an attack on all from authoritarians who try to divide and conquer us. That would be my political recommendation. That would be my policy recommendation. And when you look out at candidates who are successfully navigating this terrain, that is what they are doing, including in red states like Texas. I think Dream Salarico has had some good responses to this, for instance."
