Atlanta United CSO/sporting director Chris Henderson talks to @atlpilgrim.bsky.social and @shwrites.bsky.social about his outlook on possible buyouts this summer
"I mentioned in the beginning of the season, cap space was super tight, it was kind of limited. Do you expect to have to try to use buyout? I look at buyouts as a last resort. I think you have to exhaust all the transfers, all the trades, any opportunity you have on players before you go and ask your owners to buy out a player. You have two now that you can use. Where in the past you had to use it before the primary window started and you have to use your one buyout. So I do think it's last resort, but at the same time having owners in Arthur and Josh and the leadership group at AMBSC support anything we need to do for the team. I feel it's one of the best ownership groups in league and the way that we collaborate together. Having Mauricio Calabro coming in and just bringing his experience and what he has done in Mexico and he's had success there and he comes in with his contacts. I think it greatly helps the strategic view of what we want to do and collaborating together on how we can best build this squad."
