"Hey, it's Senator James Andrew Malone, 36th Senatorial District. I just finished up a listening session at Moravian Manor Communities. We had a lot of focus on seniors and their concerns. So we had a lot of questions regarding funding, both reimbursement rates and BAF. We had a lot of questions about needs to update and reform the now 40, 45 year old community care facilities. I think one of the items that was brought up that keeps with me is the need to really help the Pennsylvania Department of the Insurance in order to effectively get through their caseload of audits, even if they're only doing one every 10 years or every five years. There are a lot of continuing care facilities and we need to help increase their ability to get through those audits to know where people are and to know where those facilities are, both financially and in general care, and to act upon that information effectively and in a timely manner."
