"good evening America my name is Doug and while I know that my posting memes generally gets more attention than my videos do I think this particular issue has a bit too much complexity just to put on a meme so Donald Trump has tossed fire is now actively firing missiles into Iran once more but just because he has decided to renege on the ceasefire does not mean that he restarts the clock the clock being his War Powers Act responsibility when he initially declared war on Iran unilaterally he has yet to go to Congress for that but he did start a 60-day clock in which he had a responsibility to involve Congress he did not do this he then had 30 days to withdraw troops he has not done this and they claim that the clock stopped because they had a ceasefire going well that ceasefire is over he's still not obeyed the War Powers Act now I see Congress is fairly toothless here because they have no way of reigning him in short of just saying the military doesn't get any more money which I think would be disastrous I don't know how they're going to resolve this but one thing I do know what they can do and what they should do is impeach him for unilaterally declaring war on Iran and not involving Congress and I think Congress needs to rewrite the War Powers Act making it illegal for the president to violate the sovereignty of another country even with just firing missiles and I know many presidents have done that and it's time to take that power away and make them go to Congress before they violate another country's sovereignty self-defense I totally get that he should be able to immediately defend the country but even then within 24 to 48 hours he should have contacted Congress about it I really think we need to hamstring the president in some ways because of the way that Donald Trump is openly violating the law be it the War Powers Act or the Epstein Transparency Act we need to do something there anyway thank you very much have a nice night"
