Aaron Parnas Florida University threatens to withhold diplomas unless students record videos apologizing for protesting ICE.
"A Florida university is threatening to withhold diplomas from students who conducted a silent protest against ICE unless they record a video of themselves apologizing for using their First Amendment freedom of speech rights. The school, Florida International University, and according to their Orlando Sentinel, the school was furious over the fact that students held a protest against ICE. They didn't interrupt programs. They didn't stop speakers. The Sentinel reports that all the students did was wear t-shirts that said, ICE off FIU. They wanted the university not to coordinate with ICE. And now the school is threatening to discipline the students. The school, according to the Sentinel, told students that the only way they can escape punishment and receive a diploma was if they made a two-minute video reflection swearing they now understood what they did was wrong. A hostage video of sorts. People need to know about this. Spread the word. Follow along to stay updated on all the news. You need to know about more to come soon."
