"Question, does any Nichiren sect today teach that we're all eternal Buddhas, as the Lotus Sutra teaches, when the expedient means and lifespan of the Thus Come One chapters are connected? And, as Nichiren indicated in his writing, The True Aspect of All Phenomena, when he said, a common mortal is a true Buddha? Answer, no. Nichiren's statement is unconditional, a common mortal is a true Buddha. Every Nichiren school listed here applies conditions. Shakyamuni is the eternal Buddha who is superior to everyone else. Or, Nichiren is the true Buddha of the latter day and no one else is. Or, the High Priest is the only person who's directly connected to the Daigahunza. I'll explain that in a minute.
