"Game number two of the Maryland dynasty takes us to East Hartford, Connecticut, where we're taking on UConn. The Huskies also played FCSEs in week one, but they only beat them 10-9. So on paper, we should be the better team, and this is a game we should be able to control from start to finish. And right away, the defense sets the tone, as UConn goes three and out on its opening drive after Trey Redick gets home for the sack. Offensively, the game plan this week is the same as last week. Run the damn ball. DeJuan Williams gets us across midfield into Huskies' territory. That leads to a field goal to put us up 3-0. Then on an RPO, UConn's quarterback throws a backwards pass. It gets deflected, and it's rolled a live football. We scoop it up and take it all the way back for six. And things get even worse for UConn on the very next kickoff. We force another fumble, we jump on it, and just like that, the Huskies are falling apart early. That turnover leads to Iverson Howard punching it in, and Maryland is already up 17-0 in the first quarter. Second quarter now, Malik Washington comes off the play fake, rolls to his left and lets it fly to Naeem Abdul Rahim Gladding for the touchdown. That makes it 24-0, and we're in complete control of this game. Late in the second, UConn is just trying to get something going, but then their quarterback fumbles on another RPO, and we recover. His arm got caught on the halfback, and honestly, that's just brutal luck. Under two minutes to the left in the half, Washington finds Iverson Howard for another touchdown pass, and at this point, the game is just turning into a boat race. Third quarter now, and DeJuan Williams takes it up the middle, cuts to his left, and he is gone. Second touchdown of the game for Williams, and we go up 38-0. UConn finally puts together a drive late in the third, and their running back takes it to the right, and punches it in from 15 yards out to end the shutout bid. Then right here, this one's completely on me. I try to float it over to Howard, but I put way too much air under it, and it gets picked off. UConn is still down 31, but now they got a little bit of momentum, and I have absolutely no idea how this wasn't intercepted, but somehow it turns into a long UConn touchdown, and suddenly it's 38-14. We tack on a field goal to make it 41-14. Then the receiver breaks a few tackles, starts fighting for extra yards, but then gets absolutely blasted and coughs up the football, and we recover it. From there, we run the clock down as much as possible and cap things off with a Harry Dalton touchdown. We absolutely dominate UConn 48-14. A massive game for Iverson Howard, a dominant day on the ground, and the Terps move to 2-0. Next up, Virginia Tech."
