"I was sitting the day before we started shooting, getting my nails done as the character, and I'm thinking about Amy and I'm processing everything, and I just had this idea that was nagging at me, being like, I just really, when Amy is imitating his mom, I know it's based in Atlanta, I grew up in Atlanta, I want the mom to have this really annoying Southern accent, and I knew the one. I'm like, as Amy, it's like nails on a chalkboard, I could just hear it, and then all of a sudden, a lady sits down beside me getting a manicure and pedicure, and she's got this thick Southern draw that's just really annoying.
