🤼 On that note, Sakaguchi backs Inoki into the ropes and when he tries to come out on the break, Sakaguchi hits a little sasae-style foot sweep. Doesn't get all of it, just makes Inoki stumble, but brought a smile to my face.

🤼 The wildest thing in this whole match is Inoki putting Gotch over clean as a whistle with this fairly basic counter throw. He's Antonio Inoki! It's his show! He gave Gotch like 75% of the offense! Incredible choice for a company debut.

🤼 Inoki, breaking off on his own at 29, brought in 48yo Karl Gotch to work his first main event. The nearest modern equivalent I can come up with is if Bronn Breaker started his own company and worked Josh Barnett on top, which sounds cool as shit now that I say it out loud.
