#Predator ComicThon - 069 - Predator: Life & Death (2016)
"Hello, everyone, and welcome back to the Predator Comic-Thon. Today, we're looking at Predator, Life and Death, the four-issue series from 2016. Life and Death is a sequel event to Fire and Stone, with this story specifically being the first four chapters taking place one year later, which is also 43 years after the events of the film Aliens. The plot of this comic is that a Weyland-Yutani representative accompanies a group of colonial marines on a, quote, survey and secure mission to a planet that the company wishes to terraform. Upon arrival, they discover that a rival company has beaten them to the planet, but this world does not belong to anyone human. Like the main run of IDW's Ghostbusters comics, the art style here isn't my favorite, but the writing pulled me in enough that I barely noticed any issues I had with the illustrations by the end of the third issue. I, for the most part, enjoyed the characters that were saddled up with, even letting out a couple of exclamations when some were KIA, and there's a decent set of gore, including a Yautja getting the left half of his torso blown off by a pulse rifle grenade. Ouch. This one isn't revolutionary by any means, and I could have used a bit more back and forth about the corporate espionage elements, but I am giving Predator Life and Death a thumbs up, but don't take my word for it. If it sounds interesting to you, seek it out and decide for yourself."
