"The winds made it impossible to stop the fire. I'm Bradley Warren, continuing to follow the Chelan Hills fire somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 acres plus currently burning. And we're watching crews battle this blaze from the sky right now. This is people who live in the area are watching it from across the river. I just spoke with a woman whose rental home is in the line of fire under those level three evacuations. Yeah, my house is pretty much in the canyon. You know where the trees are, but but on the other side it's far from the highway and two houses that are closer to the highway than I am. They got burned because the fire jumped the highway and their houses burned. And then my house didn't burn because I didn't have anything flammable right around it in this open space. Of course, for her, this is a rental property. She says she has insurance. She's grateful that she doesn't have to go through the cleanup process, but knows that it's now a reality for several of her neighbors. So I was calling them at texting and they they said, well, yeah, we are out. And it doesn't look good. You know, it doesn't look like anything was going to stand here. But later in the day, they sent me pictures and they said the house is OK."
