The National Organizing Committee is proud to announce that we have officially filed the necessary paperwork to begin organizing the National Black Action Convention that will be coming to Chicago, Illinois in 2027. For the remainder of this year, our energy will be focused on filling all roles across our national committees. We are recruiting regional directors, state coordinators, and district coordinators in all 50 states to lead the delegate selection process. We will also need a strong team of convention volunteers ready to show up and serve on the ground in Chicago. In the coming weeks and months, you will have the opportunity to apply for the roles you are qualified for. If you have any interest in volunteering, check the link in my bio to learn more and sign up to volunteer. You will receive updates via email. But we are not just building towards 2027, we are building right now. And we have two very important upcoming opportunities for you to get involved with immediately. First, mark your calendars for June 13th. We are hosting a Black Unity cookout right here in Chicago, and we want you there. We need an accurate head count, so make sure to hit that Eventbrite link and sign up if you're coming to the cookout. The link is also in my bio. We will also be recruiting volunteers for the convention at the cookout. And then this fall, September through October, we're hitting the road for the BRC College Tour. We are taking this message directly to our young folks on college campuses across the country, and they need to be a part of this as much as we are. And we need numbers. We need students, faculty, alumni, community members showing up to these campuses and showing up for our young people. Both events, the Black Unity cookout and the BRC College Tour will also serve as volunteer recruitment opportunities, as I've said. So if you have been on the fence about getting involved, come out and see what it's all about. Ask your questions in person. The road to the convention in Chicago 2027 runs through every city, every campus, every cookout, and every conversation we are willing to have right now. Also, I know it's frustrating, but it will be our own folks that will be the loudest group telling us we're wasting our time. Just remember that they're only saying that because they're too afraid to do anything themselves. So they lash out at those with enough courage to do something.
