“At the end of the day, football is great, but it is just a small part of life.” Sam Kerr on how her family has always kept her grounded outside of the pitch 🫶
"What has always really struck me about you is how true to yourself you are in both your private and public world. You're so down to earth. You're consistent and it seems easy for you to put your family first and make the right decisions and perform so well on the field, despite there being so much pressure on you. And I want to know what or who you credit that to. I think it's just like a part of who I am growing up. I mean, you said it before you've met my family. You've hung out with my parents. It's like, yeah, my brother's done amazing things in his career. So as my dad, like my family's achieved some pretty great things, but at the end of the day, we're just like a family and we're just like chill people. And I think things just kind of have a way of working out whether it's good or for bad. And I'm very lucky to do what I do. And sometimes you lose sight of that. You get like caught up in all of like this, like social media, like wages, like all of these things nowadays, whereas I just like the most important thing to me has always been my family. And I think I've just always taken that with me. And now I have like my own little family. It's just like at the end of the day, football is great, but it is just a small part of my life. So let's go with it."
