"An ICE investigation turned deadly in Second Ward this morning. The FBI, ICE, and HPD on scene for several hours, combing through evidence and focusing their investigation around this white van. An ICE spokesperson says just before 7, agents attempted to stop a vehicle as part of a targeted enforcement arrest of Lorenzo Salgado Arujo, someone they say was in the country illegally. ICE says Arujo attempted to evade arrest on Canal and Wayside. ICE says Arujo attempted to evade arrest on Canal and Wayside by ramming his vehicle into ICE law enforcement's vehicle, not following commands, and trying to run over an officer. Video received by ABC 13 shows the heavy law enforcement presence, ICE agents, and people detained on the ground. ICE, as an officer, shot Arujo in self-defense, and he was rushed to the hospital where he later died. We spoke with Lorenzo Arujo's brother this morning when he was still working to learn what happened to his brother. He says he saw a video on social media this morning of his brother, and he heard him screaming and asking for help."
