"Hello, OpenSocial Awards. My name is Eli Malan. I'm the founder and CEO of Streamplace. Streamplace is open source software for broadcasting video on the internet, sort of like Twitch or YouTube, but we've built it from the ground up to put creator authenticity at its core. OpenSocial is critical because there's nothing more important right now than fixing the information ecosystem. We've been failed by both our traditional media institutions and the stewards of the social networks that are supposed to replace them. Never before in human history has power over the flow of information been so concentrated in the hands of a few American billionaires. With Streamplace, we're building an alternative media infrastructure to empower the creators and developers that are fighting back. All content broadcast in Streamplace contains embedded cryptographic signatures. If you react to someone else's video, if you make a compilation, if you use somebody's music, all of these things create a verifiable provenance chain back to the original creator.
