1/As more and more workers in Iowa are facing layoffs, we should not be cutting off vital aid they need. Workers who are already struggling with gas and food prices are now losing their paycheck. They want to work. But big corporations only see them as a number on a spreadsheet.
"So one of those things that we did in the legislature this year was pass unemployment reform, um, that says, Hey, you know, you don't need six months to go find a job, um, to get back to work if you've lost your other one. And we have 60,000 job openings here in the state of Iowa. And so, you know, making sure that folks are going back to work here in Southeast Iowa."
