Allow me and timelapse himbo Lestat to explain how to turn off Meta’s latest auto-opted-in generative AI scraper. Hat tip to @wired.com for bringing to my attention. When o when can we stop using IG as visual artist marketing? #sketch #art #illustration #lestat #samreid
"Thanks to Wired Magazine, I learned today that Meta is now default opting you into their generative AI tools, which will allow other people to take your likeness and images and post to generate AI content, which I presume most of you, like me, do not want. I'm sharing Wired's instructions on how to disable this feature, but please note, at least under my account, only audio content was flagged as shareable to Meta AI. I presume I'll probably need to return a little while to check and ensure that visual slash video content can't be shared either. So to deactivate in the Instagram app, click the three lines at the upper right side of your app to access your settings. Scroll down until you find sharing and reuse. Under this setting, you may see, quote, allow people to use your content on Instagram and with AI features on Meta. Be sure to toggle off both posts and reels to prevent all of your content being used in this way. Thanks. And thanks to my goofy skater dude, LestatSketch, for being my background. Share this info with a friend. I love you. Zeitgeist loves you. Bye."
