Many plus size high BMI patients are natural candidates for hourglass silhouette contouring

🎀 Whisper Transcript (en) ⏱ 79s

"People are always surprised when I tell them plus size patients often get more dramatic hourglass changes than smaller patients. And it sounds backwards until you understand how body contouring really works. Because what creates an hourglass shape isn't the size of the body. It's the contrast between the waist and the surrounding areas. And many higher BMI patients naturally carry more volume in the flanks and lower abdomen, which means when we've reduced that area safely and reshaped the torso, the difference is bigger and easier to see even before touching the breasts or the hips. The curves become clearer and the proportions start to match. And the reason the change looks so dramatic is because the waist is being defined in a way the body hasn't seen in years, sometimes not ever. And this is backed by anatomy. We know how central fat distribution can take away from the curves of the female silhouette. And when that volume comes down, the natural lines show up immediately. So plus size patients often get more dramatic hourglass results because their bodies already have the curves. The surgery just lets those curves stand out the way that they were meant. And that's why transformation can feel so powerful."
