Mental health reform is definitely needed. Email your local TD's to tell them to make Mental Health a priority for budget 2027 #SpeirGorm action.uplift.ie/campaigns/me...
"So, we all know somebody who has been massively failed by the lack of investment into mental health services here in Ireland. It could be the parents of a child unable to get urgent support, it could be families of people who have tragically lost loved ones to suicide, it could be your own self who is struggling with mental health but can't get access to the services needed. Mental health is a problem that touches every single community here in Ireland. This year's budget is a chance for our government to choose a better future. Our friends over at Mental Health Reform, they are calling on the Irish government to allocate at very least 7% of the health budget for 2027 into mental health services. That would work out to be an additional investment of about 320 million euro. Over 25,000 of us have already joined uplift member Joe in demanding that the Irish government implement Adam's Protocols which would see separate A&E departments for people who are in mental health crises. We've also had hundreds of people submit heartbreaking personal stories as part of our powerful submission in relation to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services here in Ireland also known as CAMHS. So now we are asking people to join us in emailing their local TDs calling on them to fight for this much much needed increase in mental health spending for budget 2027. If you comment email below we will send you a link to our email tool as you can And as always, we know when we come together that we are in fact that people power change."
