Questions I'm Asked (about my arm) (Part 7)

🎤 Whisper Transcript (en) ⏱ 91s

"questions I'm asked about when it comes to my arm. Now, I don't know how to word this without sounding, I guess, a little bit morbid, but, um, what motivates me? More or less in the sense of, hey, I only have one working hand and most of my other arm doesn't really work. Most people would be kind of unmotivated in life. They wouldn't want to do anything. So what motivates me to do more, you know? And the answer to that is to impress not only myself, but others around me. For example, a lot of people don't realize I play video games. Which you can find at both twitch.tv slash nade dog one zero two four seven and youtube.com slash at nade dog one zero two four seven. And I'll have people who will join stream and they might notice like at my, you know, exclamation point disability command on Twitch or just simply just ask. They notice the mouse cam, they might try to go in and chat and be like your gameplay's so bad, haha, whatever, right? But once they realize I am playing video games with one hand, they're impressed. They're like, oh shit, you're doing this, alright. A lot of them are impressed at how good I'm doing and that makes me feel good. Hell, not even video game related. I mean, I can put my hair up into like a bun or ponytail with one hand. I can tie my shoelaces with one hand. And those are things that are very much two-handed activities that is not easy to do with one hand. I've always tried pushing myself just to do better because it not only doesn't make me feel good when I realize there's more in life I can do, it makes me feel good when others notice how good I'm doing and they're like, oh shit."
