"that look good on camera are the sense of speed, which you're only going to get with aircraft in close proximity and close to the ground. But what is it really? It's basically flying these oval patterns and see who can detect the other aircraft first and see who can shoot first. I don't want to call it benign because it's still hard, but it's a different hard. And certainly it's not going to film well on camera. So to get that sense of speed and g-force, you have to bring the aircraft closer together, which is less likely in today's modern engagement."
